Located in Glendale, California, the 1930s-era Grandview substation was rebuilt to accommodate anticipated growth in the area. The substation currently serves more than 400 commercial and industrial customers and more than 1,000 homes, and utility officials expect business expansion and overall electricity demand to increase in the near future.
The renovation of the facility included enclosing all of the electrical equipment inside a building. The GIS substation will boost the operating voltage level at the substation.
