Substation Upgrade to Enhance Grid Connection

A substation expansion and upgrade in southern California will provide 40,000 customers with a more reliable connection to the power grid. Beta Engineering is providing the engineering, procurement and construction on the 230kV GIS switchyard and the 230kV synchronous condensers.

Construction is underway on a 42-foot tall building that will house two synchronous condensers. The project was recently featured in The San Diego Union-Tribune.
