Substation Design Solution Industry Consortium Spring 2025

Schedule a Meeting

Cory Byrnes, PE, Chris Wilson, and Mason Deville with Beta Engineering will be presenting at the 2025 Substation Design Solution Industry Consortium spring conference. Check out their presentation topics below, and visit our blog to access more technical content on design-build solutions for high-voltage substation projects.

Reduce the Re-Work: Automating Rigid Bus Analytical Modeling

Presenter: Cory Byrnes, PE

This presentation dives into how you can leverage Revit to create a 3D rigid bus model, automate the creation of an analytical bus model, and integrate the analytical model with outside Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software Autodesk Robot, RISA 3D and CSI SAP2000 for structural analysis. This novel integration helps create a unified process that streamlines coordination, fosters collaboration and improves productivity. Takeaways from the presentation will include discovering how to:

Harnessing Revit & Advance Steel for Collaborative 3D Modeling & Automation

Presenters: Cory Byrnes, PE, and Mason Deville

In this presentation, discover a workflow for creating high level-of-detail (LOD) 3D models that can be utilized in BIM coordination spaces and to develop precise fabrication drawings and CNC files. The processes leverage Autodesk Revit for comprehensive 3D modeling and integrate those models with Autodesk Advance Steel for LOD 400 detailing and fabrication drawing creation to bridge gaps in traditional, siloed methods. Attendees will learn how to:

Inventor to Revit: Creating Revit Families from Inventor Manufacturer Models

Presenter: Chris Wilson

This session will address how Autodesk Inventor and Revit can effectively adopt any file format and transform it into a data-rich family. Attendees will gain actionable insights into a proven method for converting manufacturer 3D models into robust, data-rich Revit families. These Revit families integrate seamlessly into BIM environments, improving cross-collaboration on projects. By adopting this workflow, utility teams can eliminate inefficiencies tied to file incompatibilities, improve design accuracy, and significantly reduce errors in critical infrastructure projects. After this presentation, attendees will know how to:
